what outbreak would be more devestating to humanity? an outbreak of raptors bought back to life and bred BY SCIENCE!!!!!! or zombies.
i believe raptors would be more devestating, mainly because they know how to work together, how to set traps, are intellegent, and worst of all...they know how to open doors.
zombies have a tendancy to stumble around mouning and only attacking things if they come near, however fighting them = more of them are created _________________ vestri matris eram a meretricis quod vestri abbas venit ex north of Danub |

Ignoring the inaccuracy though, I believe intelligent dinosaurs would be a much greater threat than zombies. Zombies, with appropriate warning and action, can be contained and perhaps even eliminated. Raptors however, by virtue of being clever and intelligent, would probably find a way out. _________________ "im pretty sure you're licensed to just pull out random weaponry at random points in a conversation" |

Zombies are worst...
Raptors still need to mate to reproduce, while zombies just need a bite to turn another to a zombie. the worst would be when they both occur at the same time then sooner or later ur gonna end up with zombie raptors and the whole world will come to an end _________________

Zombies
Zombies as depicted in the original Dawn of the Dead, the Dawn of the Dead remake, Resident Evil or Zombies from the original voodoo legends? Do these zombies run? Can you just shoot them? Do you need to destroy the brain to bring them down or do you basically have to completely dismember them to finish the job? Is it some kind of virus? Does it need to be spread through contact with blood or bites? Or does everyone who dies become one of them? or is it just one vengeful zombie out to avenge him or her self? Let's assume it's Gorge Romero's popular 'no more room in hell' scenario: Slow, but relentless. Everyone who dies becomes one of them, destruction of the brain the only way to stop them, bites have a near %100 fatality rate.
How much damage would they honestly do? Even with the whole 'everyone who dies becomes one' deal, we generally don't keep cadavers near living folk for pretty obvious health reasons. If they aren't buried under six feet of earth, they are probably locked up in morgues. Still, there would be the odd undiscovered body around from car accidents, heart attacks, suicides or drug overdoses and once they rise, would lead to a handful of the walking dead wondering about, but it would be unlikely that you'd find a gathering more then two. There is potential for an out break at a hospital, especially of it gets busy, and they aren't able to keep tabs on everyone. A few die, rise, and attack patients whom are unable to flee to defend themselves. Assuming they don't just eat them, that could snowball into a group.
Now, lets assume that despite the fact that zombies have had a prominent place in pop culture for quite some time, when we first see someone shambling about moaning and looking well... dead, we assume they are meths heads or something. They'd still look dead, They'd still stink and they move slowly. Seasonable people would keep there distance even if they had never heard of zombies. Nobody other then law enforcement officers or paramedics would go anywhere near them, and those guys aren't dumb. They aren't going to let something that look like it's could be carrying diseases do something like bite them. Especially if it's as slow and stupid as a zombie. It's not going to take long for someone to work out what they are dealing with. Just train some kind of armed response units to aim for the head and presto. Wouldn't even need bullet proof vests anymore, just some thick uniforms. Heck, the regular police could manage that.
I doubt we'd be seeing any kind of apocalyptic hoards or have the need to bunker in our homes and raid woollies for supplies. It'd be a disaster, sure. Probably cause quite a few deaths, but things would get back to normal pretty quickly.
Raptors
Even though there portrayal in the Jurassic Park films is pretty out of date (they had feathers for one thing) lets go with that model. Yes. They are smart. They hunt in packs, the are fast and have big nasty claws. Going mono a mono agent one would death for a human on most cases. But hey, they're just predators. They kill for food and possibly territory. the same thing could be said about bares! Besides, why hunt us when they could hunt a yummy zebra or kangaroo or something. They don't even have to open doors to get those. Also, they aren't going to be large numbers of them. In the film, most of the raptors where killed by other raptors ("there where six of them originally but when she came in she killed all but two of the others"). they'd be like lions in that seance; they'd keep there own numbers in check.
They'd probably find there own corner of the glob and just sit tight, hunting whatever animal is dumb enough to stick around. Sure, they'd probably wreck whatever ecosystem they are placed into, but I doubt humanity would be brought to it's knees by some hungry dinosaurs.
so, uhhh, Zombies I guess, mostly because they'd show up in many different places at once when they first appear. I mean, I'd rather be trapped alone on an island with a bunch of zombies more then a pack of raptors, but I just don't see raptors overrunning the planet. _________________ [This space is for rent] |
